The most Democratic large counties are, mostly, the most expensive ones. This list ranks counties of 250,000 or more by the Democratic lead in 2024 and puts the median home price next to the margin so the trade is visible.

How we rank
Every county with 250,000 or more residents in the Census 2023 estimate is eligible. Counties are ranked by 2024 Presidential Margin, lowest first, from OpenElections 2024. A county missing any figure in the table is left out rather than scored as zero, which is why 272 of the 3,222 places in the county database qualify. Connecticut’s planning regions are excluded because they are not counties. The table is recomputed from the database every day, so figures here can move as sources update.
