Oklahoma's age of consent is 16. There is a close-in-age provision: sexual activity with a 14- or 15-year-old is a misdemeanor rather than a felony if the defendant is less than three years older, under Oklahoma Statutes Title 21, Section 1112.
Sex education is required in Oklahoma schools but must stress abstinence. Advocacy for contraception use is prohibited. The framework is effectively abstinence-only with limited factual exceptions. There is no requirement for medical accuracy, no LGBTQ+ inclusion mandate, and no consent education standard. Oklahoma has been among the states receiving federal abstinence-only education funding and has structured its curriculum accordingly.
Oklahoma's adult entertainment environment is restrictive. Oklahoma City and Tulsa have adult entertainment businesses operating under strict local licensing and zoning. The state has a history of aggressive obscenity enforcement. Strip clubs face significant regulatory burden, and the overall posture toward adult entertainment is among the more restrictive in the South-Central region.
Sex ed required but must stress abstinence. No contraception advocacy. Conservative social laws.
